We are committed to providing a well established and progressive swimming development scheme.  We aim to provide a value for money service by:

  • Using qualified ASA swimming teachers
  • Offering a wide range of classes
  • Ensuring that all participants receive 30 minutes of tuition time
  • Aquababes is supported by the ASA Ducklings Awards 1,2 & 3
AQUABABE CLASSES

Aquababe classes are not formal but adhere to safety in and around the pool.  The classes provide an ideal teaching situation, one to one (adult and Child).  Each class has a maximum size of 12 children.  Classes are based on age rather than ability.  We work towards ASA Duckling Awards 1,2 & 3.  If you would like to apply for lessons please ask at reception for an application form.
Aquababe A
5 months - 18 months
Monday 12.45pm - 1.15pm
  • Quiet session
  • Adapting to water
  • Experience swimming reflexes
  • Experience prone and supine positions
  • Adults instructed how to hold child and perform mini submersions
  

 

 

Parents are advised that children must have completed their triple vaccines.  Lessons are run for half a term and are of half an hour duration.  You may then reapply for Aquababe A or apply to join Aquababe B.  Children will progress to the next class at the required age not ability.
Aquababe B
18 months - 36 months
Monday 1.15pm - 1.45pm
Wednesday 12.45pm - 1.45pm
  • Build self confidence
  • Learn to take instruction form the teacher
  • Provide opportunity to play with peers
  • Games
  • Free time
  • Learn to master some basic skills
  • Awards
  

 

 

 Lessons are run for a full term and are of half an hour duration.  Lessons are aimed at the adult to help the child.   Children will progress to the next class at the required age not ability.
Aquababe C
36 months - 4 1/2 years
Monday 1.45pm - 2.45pm
Wednesday 1.45pm - 2.45pm

 Lessons are run for a full term and are of half an hour duration.  Children will automatically feed into the swimming development scheme at 4 1/2.  The Aquababe teacher will inform you which class your child would book into.
